The Hypnocalm birth practitioner course provides a unique opportunity to gain a specialist qualification which will give you the chance to work with pregnant women and their partners. This course is suitable for qualified and trainee hypnotherapists who have an interest in using hypnosis and comfort techniques to help women and their birth partner achieve a positive birth experience.
 
The course has been developed by Serena using tried and tested methods which are practical and easy to use for the many parents to be she teaches. With ease of use in mind, there are no scripts for the parents (men feel uncomfortable with them!)and all the skills which are needed for a positive birth experience are taught during classes. There are no frills in this course and you will find everything clearly laid out for you in the session plans.
 
The parents are not taught unrealistic birth expectations,this course will help you prepare them for all outcomes so that  they do not feel disappointed if labour does not go as planned. The hypnotic suggestions are all embedded throughout the course through passive relaxation and hypnosis,and most of all when you teach this course , it does not have to include partners as the techniques can be adapted to suit mums who wish to come on their own. Course session plans are provided for you so you don't have to worry about preparation!

Upon completion of this course, you will receive your diploma and be able to use the trademarked name of 'Hypnocalm' and use the letters Dip.HCBP.
You will become a specialist birth practitioner within your own right, and are encouraged to update your skills through CPD courses which will run throughout the year.
You will be required to read the books on the recommended reading list and submit a written review on two books per year to keep your practitioner status. This not only helps you to maintain a high standard of practice, but keeps you up to date with the information you give!
 
The introductory cost of this course is £300 for the first 6 courses of 2012.
The cost includes a comprehensive course manual, course handouts to give to your clients and your first years listing on the Hypnocalm practitioner website.
Refreshments and lunch are provided.
